What SPC actually means

The planks we stock are stone plastic composite — a rigid mineral core with a printed wood layer and a clear wear layer on top. The core is what makes them waterproof and stops the board from expanding and contracting the way laminate does in a Florida summer.

Wear layers, in plain terms

The wear layer is the clear film that takes the abuse, measured in mils. 12 mil is fine for bedrooms and light traffic. 20 mil is our everyday recommendation for a family home with pets. 22 mil is for rentals, offices and any space where chairs roll and carts move.

Widths change how a room reads

A 7-inch plank suits smaller rooms and hallways. A 9-inch plank across an open living area means fewer seams and a calmer floor. We can lay samples out in the room before you commit.

What drives the price

Square footage, wear layer, how much subfloor preparation the slab needs, stairs, and whether furniture has to be moved. We quote material and labor together so there is one honest number rather than two that grow later.
